چکیده

Abstract There is growing interest in biodegradable and bio‐based materials that can replace conventional plastics applications such as packaging. Polymers based on 2,5‐furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) have been proposed analogues for polymers terephthalic acid. However, they tend to be brittle, exhibit limited biodegradability, there are few examples of biocomposites from these polymers. Described here the preparation a small library copolyesters FDCA, 1,4‐butanediol, either succinic, adipic or sebacic By incorporating different dicarboxylic acids varying ratios, glass transition temperature was tuned −30 41°C melting 104–171°C while maintaining high stability up ~300°C. Incorporation aliphatic facilitated blending copolymers with hemp powder, 30 wt% incorporated into polymer containing 60:40 FDCA:sebacic did not substantially alter thermal properties but increased moduli composites. The were susceptible degradation by Rhizopus oryzae lipase, acid‐containing polyester having higher degradability than succinic polyester. Overall, results demonstrate promise copolyester‐hemp blends where non‐degradable plastics.

hemp, and flax composites

This study characterizes the acoustical behavior of natural fiber composites. Regenerated cellulose fibers (Lyocell), hemp fibers, and flax fibers were embedded in an epoxy-matrix. These unidirectional composites were tested for their logarithmic damping decrement, the resonance frequency, the ultrasound velocity, the dynamic and static modulus of elasticity, and bending strength and density. G...

Sunn hemp cellulose graft copolymers polyhydroxybutyrate composites: morphological and mechanical studies

For the synthesis of biocomposite materials for useful applications, it becomes necessary to modify the surface of natural fibers through chemical treatments. Morphology, structure and properties of natural fibers have an obvious effect on the mechanical properties of the biocomposite materials. It is thus necessary to know the morphology, thermal stability and crystalline behavior of original ...

Properties of Hemp Fibre Reinforced Concrete Composites

This research is concerned with the mechanical and physical properties of hemp fibre reinforced concrete (HFRC). An experimental program was developed based on the statistical method of fractional factors design. The variables for the experimental study were: 1) mixing method; 2) fibre content by weight; 3) aggregate size; and 4) fibre length. Their effects on the compressive and flexural perfo...

Water Absorption Behavior of Hemp Hurds Composites

In this paper, water sorption behavior of 28 days hardened composites based on hemp hurds and inorganic binder was studied. Two kinds of absorption tests on dried cube specimens in deionized water bath at laboratory temperature were performed. Short-term (after one hour water immersion) and long-term (up to 180 days) water absorption tests were carried out to study their durability. Short-term ...

Characteristics of Wheat, Barley and Hemp Model Composites

Švec I., Hrušková M. (2015): Characteristics of wheat, barley and hemp model composites. Czech J. Food Sci., 33: 66–71. Barley is known as health-benefit raw material, mainly due to beta-glucan. To explore the nutritional benefit of barley and hemp plants, wheat-barley flour premixes were prepared (70 : 30 and 50 :0 50 w/w, respectively). Hemp flour of wholemeal and fine type was added to each ...
